Nigel Rollins

Dr Nigel Rollins joined the WHO Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing in 2008. He trained as a paediatrician in Belfast and his work focuses on interventions to improve child survival, growth and development. This includes research to improve linear growth in young infants and the treatment of children with moderate wasting. He is a co-author on the Lancet 2023 Breastfeeding series.

Prior to WHO, Dr Rollins was Professor and head of the Centre for Maternal and Child Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where he lived and worked for 14 years
