Talk: Inclusive arthritis research design, analysis and reporting

Dr. Cheryl Barnabe, is a Rheumatologist and Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Community Health Sciences, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. She holds leadership roles as Vice-Chair for Indigenous Health in the Department of Medicine, and as the Deputy Director for the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health. She is a Canada Research Chair in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Autoimmune Diseases, and her research program focusses on equity in health service delivery and arthritis outcomes, most specifically for Indigenous populations in Canada. She served two terms as the Chair of the Quality Care Committee for the Canadian Rheumatology Association. A main contribution has been to provide national guidance on both development and implementation of practice and treatment recommendations that address concerns of populations with arthritis who face health inequities, including rural and remote Canadians, persons from various racial and ethnic populations, the elderly with frailty, persons with diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and persons of low socioeconomic status.
